Every five years ASPAEN Cartagena offers the city a general space for reflection to highlight business and personal values, which are based upon the principles of quality, solidarity, humanization and social development. It promotes the strengthening, development, and the values of our country. On every occasion there are domestic and foreign speakers who come to share with the participants their presentations and experiences, according to the main theme of each forum.
Along with the "Forum to Defend Values" another academic event aimed at the young people is performed. This event involves students from different schools in the country who come to give lectures and to represent their institutions through the presentation of expositions about a specific topic.
Traditional festival held every two years by Gimnasio Cartagena de Indias, inviting the city’s families, relatives and friends to enjoy music, food and 12,000 meters of pure entertainment and healthy recreation. It integrates families and guests, and raise funds to be invested in the school’s facilities.
MUN is a simulation of the International United Nations System which is composed of high school students nationwide. Every year, the students of Gimnasio Cartagena de Indias Cartagena with ASPAEN’s support, organize this educational event about cultural heritage in order to promote a spirit of solidarity and unity among the young people. The topics of national and international politics allow the young participants to acquire significant experience which teaches them techniques for persuasion, negotiation, writing and speaking both in Spanish and English.
With the purpose of offering the city of Cartagena a significant opportunity to experience the spirit of Christmas, ASPAEN Cartagena annually organizes this event which brings together hundreds of people around the giant Christmas tree on the banks of the Bay of Cartagena. Thus, our institutions bring the citizens a Christian sense of peace and hope, symbolized by the lights, music and performances featuring special guests and students from our schools.
